HerdHand keeps the records for your alpacas, cattle, sheep and goats in one app: health, breeding, shearing, pedigree and paperwork. It works out in the paddock with no signal, and syncs when you’re back in range.
One app for the whole farm. It speaks each animal’s language.

Your owndeer, emus, donkeys…
Gestation, breeds and terms are set per species, and you can change any of them. A cria is a cria, a calf is a calf.
Animal profile
One record for each animal, for life.
Open any animal and everything is there: who it is, where it is, what’s happened and what’s coming up. Records link to the animal rather than copying it, so nothing drifts out of date.
Tag, brass number, microchip and registration, all searchable
Pregnancy progress, lineage and upcoming actions at a glance
Timeline, health, breeding, care, fleece, offspring, documents, photos and ownership
Today & due soon
Know what needs doing before you pull on your boots.
Drenches, vaccinations, pregnancy checks and tasks come together on the home screen, grouped so a whole mob that’s due shows up as one job.
“Log for all 8” records a mob treatment in one tap
Reminders fire as phone notifications, even without signal
Snooze, repeat and set your own reminder rules for each species
Breeding
From mating to birth, and the family tree builds itself.
Record a mating and HerdHand counts down to the due date using that species’ gestation, which you can override. Record the birth and the newborn gets its own profile, linked to dam and sire.
Pregnancy checks and milestones along the way
Four generations of pedigree, including outside ancestors
Offspring history for every dam and sire
Batch actions
Treat the whole mob in one go.
Pick a group, a paddock or a filtered list, then drench, vaccinate, move, shear or weigh them all at once. Each animal still gets its own record, so its history stays complete.
Your product list fills in dose, route and withholding period
Withholding end dates worked out for you
Every animal in the batch shares a batch ID you can trace later
Farm assistant
Just ask. Your herd’s records answer.
HerdHand’s built-in assistant knows your farm: every animal, treatment, pregnancy and reminder. Ask in plain English.
Ask about any animal“When was Misty last drenched?” “Which ewes are due to lamb this month?” Answers come straight from your own records.
Record as you goTell it a weight, a treatment or a move, and it fills in the record for you.
Reminders and tasks in a sentenceAsk it to remind you or assign a job, and it sets up the reminder or task with the right animal and date.
Like the rest of HerdHand, the assistant looks things up and keeps records. It doesn’t diagnose or recommend treatments.

StaffRecords animals, breeding, care and their own tasks. No settings or financials.
VetSees every animal. Records health, treatments and lab results.

Built to be trusted
Your records, your call.
Records, not advice
HerdHand records what you and your vet decide. It never diagnoses or recommends a treatment, and any thresholds are yours to set.
Nothing quietly disappears
Every change is logged. Archived records can be restored, and nothing is ever hard-deleted.
Your data is yours
Owners can export the whole farm at any time as spreadsheets (CSV) and JSON in a single ZIP.
Private to your farm
Each farm’s records are walled off from every other farm’s, and every connection is encrypted.
Questions
Good questions, straight answers.
Does it really work without phone reception?
Yes. Your herd’s records are stored on the phone, so you can search, look things up and record treatments, weights, births and more with no connection. Reminders are phone notifications, so they still go off. Signing up, inviting people and making PDFs need a connection.
Which animals does it handle?
Alpacas, llamas, cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs and poultry are built in, each with its own terms and gestation period. You can also add your own species, like deer or emus. A single farm can run as many species and groups as you like.
Is it on iPhone and Android?
HerdHand is being built for both from one codebase. Android comes first, with iPhone to follow.
What will it cost?
We’ll announce pricing before the public launch.
Can my staff and vet use it?
Yes. Invite them with a code and give each person a role: Owner, Manager, Staff, Vet or Read-only. Financial details are only shown to people you give financial access.
Will it tell me what to treat?
No, deliberately. HerdHand is a record-keeping tool. It records what you and your vet decide, and works out withholding end dates from the product label. It doesn’t diagnose, recommend treatments or suggest doses.
Can I get my data out?
Any time. An owner can export the whole farm as a ZIP of spreadsheets (CSV) and JSON. You can also share any single animal’s record as a PDF.
Coming soon
HerdHand is coming to Android and iPhone.
One app for every animal on the farm: its records, its family, its health and what’s due next. It works wherever you are, signal or not.
